Clarifications
Okay.
1. That mountain to the North of Quito is actually a volcano. In fact it is two volcanoes and the closest one is called Pinchincha.
2. Those volcanoes to the North of Quito are actually to the West of Quito
3. Quito is not 3000 ft above sea level, it is 2850m
4. Although Gary seems to scorn the idea of romanticising events, I feel it prudent to reveal that the first page of his journal is entitled: "The Voyage Across The Sea".
